A piezoelectric cable is a sensor formed like a cable that processes the insulation layer of the coaxial cable with piezoelectric material and transmits a timely signal by sensing the mechanical vibration or impact. As can be seen in the coaxial cable drawing below, the basic structure consists of piezoelectric composite in between core wire (inner electrode) and shield braid(outer electrodes). This device gives a timely electrical signal in relation to the change in outside pressure(mechanical energy). In relation to the change in pressure does not refer to the degree of the pressure but the amount of change of the pressure. It means that the response property to dynamic change is excellent. It is a

very fundamental piezoelectric property.

Commonly called piezocable, the material that is used as the base material of the sensor, the FLEXPZT was developed by our company over the past 2 years. The existing ceramic is so brittle(easy to fragile) that it is inappropriate for producing products that have big and complicated shapes. However, the FLEXPZT with an ideal composition is able to overcome this shortcoming and the fact that it is possible to create a product of various forms is technically significant.
